I selfishly hope to see you again; although I think everyone, whatever their personal circumstances, is generally better off keeping away from both the internet and screens, preferably forever. That aside, I hope the operation goes well – in spite of my own distrust and hatred of doctors in general, I have had a few operations in the course of my life and never encountered anything but professionalism and decency in the particular individuals who carried them out. So I hope the outcome for you will be good. Yes, life is hard for (almost) everyone, but for some it really seems to be making a special effort to kick in the teeth.
